Art Director

The Art Director is the cornerstone of the graphic design team, and works directly with the CEO of the company to envision and create unique solutions to creative problems, and works in conjunction with fellow team leaders, as well as the creative face to the client(s); must carry the ability to communicate well both orally and in writing. The Art Director is a team leader, and must have experience managing other designers to ensure a project is sufficiently compartmentalized with scheduled deadlines paired with the abilities to critique and follow the project from start to finish, resulting in a design professional in nature of the highest quality. The Art Director, although focusing on clients and project management, must be capable of stepping in to create, and adjust, any design project that requires their expertise.

Strong design sense through masterful use of hierarchy, color theory, typography, and image manipulation. Background experience via employment in a firm or established freelance company (of five years) is required with projects incorporating print media, print processing, branding and identity, layout design, apparel design, package design, and familiarity with website design and principles (HTML/CSS) as well as some marketing experience. Client-base is reviewed. Experience in working with and managing multiple client projects simultaneously.

Any applicants must have a detailed resume, experience in branding and campaign development, corporate identity, large-scale projects, print media, package design, and collateral, in additional to management experience in the graphic design field.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Graphic Design highly recommended.
  • Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design required. Honors recommended.
  • Five years work experience in either an established design firm, or established freelance company.
  • Proficiency in Mac OSX and Windows operation and general troubleshooting required.
  • Vendor experience required.
  • Management experience highly recommended.
